Commissioner Sue Kiley is serving her second, three-year term on the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners. She is the Deputy Director of the Board and liaison to the Human Services Department, including the Board of Health, Division of Aging and Disabilities, Division of County Adjuster, Division of Behavioral Health, Division of Planning and Contracting for Human Services, Division of Social Services and the JDAI Program.

Sue leads the Monmouth ACTS program implementation. Monmouth ACTS (Assisting Communities through Services) is an innovative public-private partnership – the first of its kind in New Jersey. It brings together County employees from the Department of Human Services and community partners on the Human Services Advisory Council (HSAC) to better the quality of life for Monmouth County residents in need. The Financial Recovery Initiative, a division of Monmouth ACTS, was able to assist residents with financial difficulties because of the recent pandemic. Additionally, Sue lead the County COVID initiatives providing weekly communication, testing and immunization sites. The Commissioner Board delivered CARES money to municipalities, 501c3’s and others. $48,000,000 of the Federal money was provided to small businesses.

Prior to joining the Commissioner Board, Commissioner Kiley served Hazlet on the Township Committee since 2014 as a Committeewoman, Deputy Mayor and Mayor. During her time in office, Commissioner Kiley served on the Land Use Board, Open Space Committee, Environmental and Economic Development Committees and Recreation Committee. She created programs for seniors, disabled veterans and small local businesses.

Sue has had a successful 30-year career in the healthcare industry before entering the political arena, first as a Registered Nurse and then in healthcare sales. Before retiring, Commissioner Kiley was a Top Producing Vice President in national healthcare sales. The impact of Superstorm Sandy on the Bayshore Community was a pivotal time in Commissioner Kiley’s life. It was then that she decided to retire from her national job to become more involved in community service, and ultimately run for office.

Commissioner Kiley is an Executive Board Member of The RAINE Foundation, and Breast Intentions- both local 501c3 charities helping families in our local communities. She is on the Executive Board at Mater Dei Prep and is on the Mater Dei Woman’s Advisory Board as well. She serves as a Board member of the Monmouth County Board of Health. She is an active member of the Monmouth County Federations of Republican Women and is on the Board of Governors for the State organization. Sue is also a volunteer weekly Cantor at her church. Sue and her husband Gene have resided in Hazlet most of their lives. They have five children and 13 grandchildren.
