Hazlet, NJ - Sue Kiley, current Monmouth County Commissioner and former Mayor of Hazlet, received a major boost from New Jersey’s only two republicans in Congress.
Representatives Chris Smith (NJ-04) and Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02) have thrown their support behind Commissioner Kiley as she looks to unseat Frank Pallone, the 34-year incumbent from Long Branch and current Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee– largely seen as a rubber stamp for President Biden’s policies.
“Our message resonates with our neighbors being crushed by the Biden-Pallone agenda,” said an overjoyed Commissioner Kiley. “Reducing spending, tackling inflation, securing the border, funding the police, and ensuring quality education, – these are the issues most important to our constituents.”
The excitement surrounding Kiley’s bid to unseat Pallone has New Jersey’s two Republicans ready to add another to their caucus. “I’m honored to have the support of our state's two champions in the House and am ready to hit the ground running to bring Jersey values to D.C. with them,” said Commissioner Kiley.
Rep. Smith, the Dean of the New Jersey Delegation, former Chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee and the Co-Chair of the House Pro-Life Caucus, offered fervent support for his longtime friend and future ally in the House.
"Sue Kiley is an outstanding public servant who has worked hard and delivered for the people as a Mayor and County Commissioner. Sue's dedication, toughness—balanced by her extraordinary compassion—and her commonsense leadership is needed in Washington,” said Rep. Smith (R-NJ). “I wholeheartedly endorse Sue and look forward to working with her in Congress where she will fight effectively to combat skyrocketing inflation, crime and over-regulation.”
Rep. Jeff Van Drew started out in local government similar to Sue, first as a Fire Commissioner and then small-town mayor. Eager to add another locally-focused leader to join him in Washington, he offered his support for her campaign.
“The only way we’re going to undo the damage President Biden and this Democrat majority have done is to send strong Conservative leaders to Washington,” said Rep. Van Drew (R-NJ). “Sue Kiley will stand up to the Radical Left and always put America First which is why I’m proud to support her.”
The Kiley campaign has been exhausting all resources. to bring their message of safety, security, and responsible government to all corners and every voter of the newly-redrawn 6th District. Most recently, they’ve held two townhalls in the newly-expanded Middlesex portion of the District, have joined the Indian community at many of their community events, and had a standing-room-only rally in Hazlet to support their Monmouth County candidates.
“People deserve a representative that enriches their lives, a stark contrast from our current representative,” said Commissioner Kiley. “I’m proud to be supported by two hardworking, valiant leaders who want the government to work for New Jerseyans.”

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it to them with the well fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don't do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in America when men were free."
